Sports
The Premier League returns on Saturday 22 August 2026 and runs to 30 May 2027. For many newcomers it is the fixture that shapes the weekend — provided you know where to watch it in Canada, because the answer is not the one most people expect.
Where to watch in Canada
Fubo holds the exclusive Premier League rights in Canada and streams all 380 matches live each season. Full coverage is included in Fubo’s Sports and Premium plans, with selected matches available in 4K.
There is no free-to-air or traditional cable coverage in Canada. This is what surprises people arriving from Europe or Africa most: your usual TV package will not carry it, however premium it is. Fubo is the official route.
Watching without a subscription
If a subscription is not in the budget this season, the old solution still works best: sports bars. Several Montréal pubs open early on Saturdays for the 10 a.m. kickoffs — many show matches with sound, and some gather supporter groups by club. It is also, very practically, one of the easiest ways to meet people when you arrive.
- Ask which pubs post fixtures in advance — arrive 30 minutes early for a seat.
- European matches are morning games in Montréal: 10:00 and 12:30 are the most common slots.
- Big fixtures fill up: for a derby, reserve or arrive very early.
The time difference is the real adjustment
This is the change that catches people out: a 3 p.m. kickoff in London starts at 10 a.m. in Montréal. Your weekend routine shifts to the morning. The upside is that the rest of the day is still yours.
If you would rather play than watch
Watching is good. Playing is better for settling in. Our guide to joining a team in Montréal explains how recreational leagues with individual registration work, and our Sports page follows the PremiereMinistar team plans.
Always check plans, prices and availability directly with the broadcaster — the offer changes from season to season.
