Music
October is one of the busiest months of the year for concerts in Montreal. From Quebec rap to arena pop — plus an electronic producer performing with the symphony orchestra — here is our pick for the rest of the month.
This week
- Apashe x OSM — 8 to 10 October, Maison symphonique. The Montreal-based electronic producer with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. Two of the three nights were already sold out.
- The Smashing Pumpkins — 9 October, Bell Centre.
- The Linda Lindas — 10 October, Théâtre Fairmount.
- Souldia — 10 October, MTELUS, on his Monstre tour.
- Bibi Club — touring Quebec from 8 October, with a Montreal date.
Next week
- JPEGMAFIA — 14 October, MTELUS. One of the most unpredictable rap shows around.
- Ghostly Kisses with the Orchestre FilmHarmonique — 16 October, Maison symphonique.
End of the month
- Thundercat — 20 October, MTELUS.
- Olivia Rodrigo — 21 and 22 October, Bell Centre.
- John Summit — 23 October, Bell Centre.
- Yebba — 26 October, L’Olympia.
- KATSEYE — 30 October, Bell Centre.
Tips for your first concert here
Buy tickets from the right source. Use the venue’s official box office or a recognised resale platform. Tickets offered on social media and classified-ad sites are the number one source of scams.
Take the metro. The Bell Centre, MTELUS, L’Olympia and the Maison symphonique are all on the metro. Parking downtown on a show night is expensive and slow.
Check the venue’s policy. Large venues often limit bag sizes. A quick look at the venue’s website before you leave avoids a bad surprise at the door.
Plan for the coat check. In October you will arrive with a coat. Most venues have a paid cloakroom — bring a few dollars.
Dates and venues can change. Always confirm with the venue or official box office before buying.
